How to make the Wrap and lid
instructions are given in UK terminology and U.S in brackets
What you will need:
4mm (G-6) hook.
Dk yarn in colour of your choice.
Clean jar or similar
Darning needle
To make the wrap
Start by chaining 42 stitches.
1 DC (SC ) into second chain from hook.
Continue DC (SC ) into every stitch until end CH 1 turn.
Continue DC (SC ) until you have 10 rows or desired size.
DC (SC ) all around the edge.
Change to chosen colour for edging and work a reverse DC (SC ) around the edge.
Sew in all the strands.
Fold the crochet strip in half to find the center.
Chain 25 and attach to each end of strip to make ties.
To make the bunny
Using white yarn chain 4 and SS into first chain to form a loop.
Chain 2, TR (DC) 7 into the ring, Join with SS into second chain of initial chain 2.
Chain 2, 2 TR (DC ) into each stitch and join with a SS into second chain of initial chain 2.
Sew in loose threads.
To make the ears
Chain 9 and 1TR (DC ) into second chain from hook.
Continue TR (DC ) in every stitch to end break of yarn.
Join white yarn and DC (SC ) up the side of the ear at the top stitch 2 DC (SC ) into the same stitch,continue DC (SC ) down the remaining stitches.
Break of yarn and sew in ends.
Make another ear exactly the same.
Sew both ears to the head.
Stitch on some eyes,nose and a mouth.
Now sew the bunny to the wrap.
Tie The wrap around a clean jar.
To make the Lid
Chain 4 and SS into first chain to make a loop as you did for the bunny above.
Round 1: Chain 2 and TR (DC ) into every stitch around join into second chain from initial chain 2 with a SS.
Round 2: chain 2, 2 TR (DC) into each stitch around join with SS into second chain from first initial chain 2.
Round 3: Chain 2, 1 TR (DC ) into first stitch,* 2 TR (DC ) into same stitch, 1 TR (DC ) into next stitch* Repeat From * to end SS into second chain from Initial 2 chain.
Round 4: Chain 1, Dc (SC ) into every stitch join into first chain made.
Round 5: Chain 5, miss 1 stitch DC (SC ) into next stitch repeat to end SS into last stitch.
Fasten off and sew in ends.
In a colour of your choice chain 80 and fasten off.
Thread the chain length though the single crochet row of lid and pull to gather.
Put on top of jar and tie.
Now fill with yummy Easter goodies!
